The townspeople line up down South Broadway to see Daredevil Doherty race down a steep ramp on his bicycle, leap through fire and land on the other side. We don't have a date for this photo but Doherty performed this act at least from 1905 to 1929 when he had an accident seriously injuring himself.
At a show in Dayton in 1929 his bike ran off the ramp causing him to fall 25 feet. You can see Doherty if you look close at the top of the ramp.
