1876. Glady School has at different times been both a school and a church. It is a farm building now. In the 1880's, Glady was a small unplatted community and it's news was reported in the Wilmington Journal. From an item which appeared in the Glady News column in Wilmington Journal: "a great many rattlesnakes have been killed this spring, one recently by Charley Pfister with 11 rattles."
