Republican Senator Barry Goldwater makes a whistle stop in Blanchester on his campaign to become President of the United States. An estimate 6,000 people showed up at the Blanchester depot to greet him.
Despite the large show of support, Goldwater was defeated in a landslide by incumbent Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson.
