New maps have been added to the Maps page. These include an 1859 map of Jefferson Township and maps of Marion Township from 1859, 1876, 1903 and 1926.

Maps are valuable tools for historians and researchers. Some of the things they can tell us:
• Where old houses stood
• Where schools and businesses were located
• The location of roads that no longer exist or were altered
• The owners of properties
• The original names of towns that were changed at some point
• The location of railroads that have been removed or convert to trails

Tip: When viewing a map on this site, there is a link in the lower right corner of the screen that will allow you to see the map full size. It will open the image in a new window. You can then use your computer’s or browser’s zoom function to get in close and explore.
